Welcome to the weekend, my friends! It has been one heck of a winter for this desert-raised girl. I’m having trouble wrapping my mind around the fact there is still snow on the ground here. Snow that doesn’t melt within a few days of falling? That’s not really supposed to be a thing here, but it’s a whole new winter wonderland over here.
ON THE BLOGS THIS WEEK: This Last Minute Restaurant-Style Salsa blew my mind when I made it for the first time a few years ago – and I’ll be making it again tomorrow for game day snacking. I can hardly wait!
These Pizza Sliders have all the classic pizza flavors we love inside a warm, pull-apart bite. Toasted rolls, gooey mozzarella, salty pepperoni, and marinara sauce come together in a snack that’s perfect for sharing.
And to go with those sliders, Pepperoni Pizza Dip is the perfect party appetizer. I mean, who doesn’t love a piping hot, melting cheese dip full of pepperoni?
Dill Pickle Ranch has everything I want in a dressing. Cool, creamy ranch sets the stage, while pickles bring in a zippy, crave-worthy tang that makes each bite demand another. And, since it takes just a few minutes to throw together, this irresistible salad dressing is always ready to eat when I am.
With a gentle cinnamon sweetness, Arroz con Leche is a fabulous rice pudding that’s all about soft and creamy textures. I’ve loved this traditional Mexican treat ever since the first time I tasted it, years ago. And, I also like that it takes just one pot and a little time to transform simple ingredients into this rich dessert.
Just three simple ingredients combine to create a rich and creamy cup of Homemade Hot Cocoa that tastes better than any packaged mix at the store. Milk, unsweetened cocoa powder, and sugar are all you need to make the ultimate comforting treat.
Want a sweet no-bake treat you can stir together in just a few minutes? Try a batch of Avalanche Cookies! They’ll be ready to eat after chilling for just 10 minutes!
My FAVORITE THING this week is this microwave heating pad. Oh, how much I love it! as dorky as it looks, and yeah, it’s dorky, this thing? It’s a pain relief game changer. Just 2 minutes in the microwave and it’s filled with amazing moist heat and I can wrap it around my back or my belly for cramps – it feels like a miracle and stays hot for AGES.
Small warning – do NOT overheat, watch to make sure it is spinning in the microwave and doesn’t develop a hot spot. Use caution and follow all directions when using.
What I’m WATCHING: Stargate SG-1 Season 10. Oh, how fantastic is the season finale for this series? So much awesomeness is wrapped up in the last few episodes and the finale? It’s just so so good. Sigh. Have I convinced you to try this show yet??
I’ll admit that seasons 9 and 10 aren’t really my favorites, (ugh, with the Ori and their nonsense) but the last few episodes? The writers did a simply fantastic job wrapping things up. Tears, laughter, and so much preposterous sci-fi fun have made me fall in love with this show all over again.
“Teach me to do your will, for you are my God! Let your good Spirit lead me on level ground!” Psalm 143:10 ESV
Wishing you a beautiful week filled with little things that make you smile!
