Dill pickle livens up a creamy dip.
Dill pickle might just be one of the most tantalizing flavors, and its potential extends far beyond a jar of Refrigerator Pickles and Turkey Burgers.
.Pickles’ punch of acid makes them a dream pairing with traditionally creamy or fatty foods, and they also provide welcome crunch.
It’s why I love them as a variation on potato chips (Air Fryer Spicy Dill Pickle Chips) and creamy dishes like Dill Pickle Chicken Salad.
That crunch + acid makes dill pickle a winner for creamy dips, and this easy recipe lets them star.
In typical Well Plated fashion, I lightened up this recipe by using a high protein base of Greek yogurt blended with cottage cheese. It tastes a bit like a cross between my favorite Greek Yogurt Ranch Dip and Homemade Tzatziki Sauce, with a pickle punch.
Tips for the Best Dill Pickle Dip
Use Good Quality Pickles. Since this recipe has so few ingredients (and pickles are the star!) make sure you use high quality, super crunchy pickles. I like chopping up pickle spears here because you can control the size of the pieces, but thicker pickle chips work also.
Chill for 30 Minutes. It’s hard to wait, but the chill time is critical to allow the dip to thicken up and the flavors to marry.
Salt to Taste. Pickles are pretty salty, so start with less salt, then add to taste.
Serving Ideas
Chips. The best. Go the extra mile by making Air Fryer Potato Chips or Air Fryer Tortilla Chips, or grab a bag of pita chips.
Fresh Veggies. Carrots, celery, red bell peppers, and even thinly sliced radishes are all great with pickle dip.
Do More Than Dip. In addition to dipping, I love a big blob of this dip on top of meal bowls like this Burger Bowl and on Smash Burgers in place of pickles.
